QUESTIONS
-
What can I expect from my first therapy session?Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We will discuss your background, what brings you to therapy, and your goals at your own pace. Together, we will explore how therapy can support you and determine the best approach to address your needs. It’s a time to feel heard, understood, and begin building the foundation for our work together.

What can therapy help with?Therapy can help with a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, relationship issues, self-esteem, grief, and more. Therapy can help you explore and understand the impact of past experiences, navigate challenges you're currently facing, and work toward a more empowered and fulfilling future. Whether you're navigating difficult emotions, looking to make lasting changes, or seeking support with personal growth, therapy can help you build valuable tools and make meaningful changes in your life.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or struggling with challenges that seem hard to navigate on your own, therapy could be a helpful space. It’s normal to feel uncertain, especially in the beginning, but reaching out is the first step toward finding clarity, support, and new ways of coping. If you have concerns or feel unsure at any point, I encourage you to discuss it openly with me. Together, we can adjust our approach or address any worries to ensure you feel comfortable and supported throughout our work together. Have more questions? Let’s schedule a consultation to discuss how therapy can help you navigate your unique journey.

What’s the difference between talking to you and talking to my best friend or family? While friends and family offer support, a therapist brings an objective, trained perspective that’s focused entirely on you and your personal growth. While relationships are important, therapy is a confidential space where you can explore your emotions without concern for judgment, bias, or advice that might be influenced by your relationship dynamics. As a therapist, I use evidence-based techniques to guide our work together, helping you gain insights and practical strategies for change, tools that friends or family might not be equipped to provide.

Do you accept insurance?I do not directly bill insurance companies, but I can provide you with receipts for insurance reimbursement if you have coverage for psychotherapy. Please check with your provider to confirm your benefits and coverage for Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying).
-
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment? If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours' notice to avoid a cancellation fee. If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, the full session fee will apply.

Where are you located and do you offer in person services?I am currently only offering virtual therapy, allowing you to connect from the comfort and privacy of your home. I’m pleased to work with clients across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario.
